8 is ENOUGH
RULES
ENTRY DEADLINE: 12 NOON, Thursday, March 20th...no exceptions! If you want a chance
for additional bonus points, the deadline to select one of the 8 "play-in" teams in the first four round is 7pm for teams playing on
Tuesday March 18th or 7pm for teams playing on Wednesday March 19th (optional)
Read the following 8 (of course) rules and analyze, research and breakdown the four regional brackets. Then flip
your lucky coin to pick your teams. Until the first tip-off at noon on Thursday, March 20th,
you’re tied for first place! Happy picking (or guessing) and GOOD LUCK!!
Special Note: 8 is Enough does include the first four play in games.
Bonus points are available if you pick a play in team, but they need to win their first round game and THEN a later round game. Points
for the play in game are: play in team seed multiplied by 0.5. In addition, the team seed will be increased by 1 for every round.
To earn these bonus points you must select the team prior to their game on Tues or Wed night!
1. Click Enter Picks. Please enter your real name and your entry name. This can be the same name but if you submit more than one entry, be sure that you use DIFFERENT entry names.
If you are a first time entry, please indicate it in the referrer field of the entry page. For example, Referrer: John Smith (rookie)
2. Follow the form to SELECT 8 TEAMS out of the 68 seeded entries. Of your 8 teams, ONLY 2 teams may be #1 seeds and ONLY 2 teams may be #2 seeds but you DO NOT have to pick 2 #1 and 2 #2 seeds!
3. Each round, your 8 teams can earn the following points with a win (a loss gives you the big "goose egg"):
*Play-In Round = 0.5 point
Round 1 = 1 point Round 2 = 2 points Round 3 = 3 points
Round 4 = 4 points FINAL 4 = 8 points Champion = 10 points
* if ALSO wins Rd 1 game
* if chosen, 8 play-in teams receive 1 extra seed point starting in Rd 1
4. Points are awarded in each round by multiplying the seed of each winning team by the number of points available in each round,
i.e. #13 seed wins a round 2 game and you would receive 26 points or #2 seed wins a final 4 game and you would earn 16 points.
The new exception is that the 8 play in teams will be given and extra point to their seed and this bonus point comes into play if one of
these teams wins their 2nd game thru the Championship.
Do you select low seeded favorites or high seeded Cinderella teams? That’s for you to figure out!!!
5. Each entry is $25. Entry fees will ONLY be accepted via the website and Pay Pal. If you don’t own a credit
card, borrow one! Please be sure to include full name when completing Pay Pal form so I know who you are! Also, winners
will be paid via PayPal. You do not need to have a PayPal account to enter but you will if you are lucky enough to win
anything! A portion of your entry fee will be donated to NYU Langone's Division of Cardiology.
6. Prize money will be rounded using $20 an entry after some administrative fees (website set up and development, PayPal fees, deadbeats) will apply:
Most points in Rounds 1, 2, 3 & 4 = about 5% of pool (20%)
Most points overall:
5th Place= about 5% of pool
4th Place= about 7.5% of pool
3rd Place = about 10% of pool
2nd Place = about 15% of pool
1st Place = about 25% of pool
Rookie of the Year (new entry w/ most points): About 3% of pool
Least points overall or Big Loser: 2026 Entry Credit
7. BONUS POINTS! PLEASE NOTE BONUS POINT VALUES. Pick the Final 4, Final 2 and National Champion and you’ll be awarded the following bonus points:
These 4 teams MUST be from your 8 teams.
Final 4 = 10 bonus points
Final 2 = 20 bonus points
Champion = 40 bonus points
8. TIES...
The team(s) with the most cumulative points going into that round (except in round 1), will be used as a tiebreaker for any round.
To break any potential ties for the top 5 overall winners, the appropriate teams will be asked for
the Championship Game final score on Monday, April 7th.
SPECIAL NOTE: You may recruit family, friends, colleagues, etc. to participate but be sure they fill out the
reference section on the Entry Form. As 8 is Enough has grown over the years (Rich & 5 friends in 1987), the focus has
always been on quality participants than quantity. 8 is Enough has no time or patience for anyone who takes it too
seriously! Also, be sure they submit their payment. All entry fees not received will automatically disqualify
you this year!
GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!!!
